It’ll still have shit for trunk space.

Yeah! Take the continental, rebadge/detrim it and call it the Crown Victoria!
Make Sedans Great Again!

I wonder if this comes with how they are entering the Mustang for the Aussie Supercar championship. The spec Supercars chassis is built for a sedan and Ford may have already had this idea floating in the pipeline for replacing the Fusion in the process of killing all cars.

I still think its a really bad idea for the Ford brand to have a mainstreamish model, like a sedan, pushing into that price class. Kind of shows a lack of support for/confidence in Lincoln, like NBC keeping Jay Leno around after Conan took over the Tonight Show.
I mean, spinning a sedan off the platform does make sense, as a way to boost economies of scale, but the A7/Panamera really should be Lincoln’s territory, leave Ford to go after the Stinger and Charger.

Whaaaa?
would it be better off as Lincoln though, if they want a luxury competitor. Wish it has a lower priced 2.3 Ecoboost version as well.
I would seriously consider a Mustang sedan if it were the right price.

Ha ha ha haaaaa!! They really think Panamera and A7 are gonna be their competitors? No one is going to cross shop a Mustang and Porsche. The Dodge Charger, Kia Stinger, and 300C are more realistic.

LOL no

Given that Ford just pulled the plug on all their sedans in the US to focus on SUV production, this smells like BS.

This is Ford, if the Crown Vic is coming back it’s going to be a luxury trim of the Escape.

Nope.

Knowing Ford, they’ll bollock it in spectacular fashion.
Also, modern cars are over tech'd, Ford needs to go simpler, easier to maintain. Any of their current platforms including the mustang, isn't fun to maintain.

The Mustang’s trunk space isn’t terrible , the mail slot sized opening is the bigger issue.
![]() 10/31/2018 at 20:37 |

Really? The Mustang has a good amount of trunk space honestly. Could use more as a sedan but my fiance’s Sonata trunk isn’t THAT much bigger.

Why the f is Ford trying to compete with Porsche.....They’ve straight up lost their minds.

Ford Mustang Gran Coupe!

I don’t believe it.

Im calling BS. Too many rumors got mixed up. The Mach 1 suv rumors mixed with the 4 door mustang. It's going to be a mustang inspired 4 door cuv or SUV. Rumors of the explorer chasis so probably closer to a suv.

They should build a two door ute off the platform while they are at it. Mainly because stupid deserves a double down....

This goes against the very public statement they made about killing off sedans.

Ford can we finiky with their decisions tho.
![]() 11/01/2018 at 09:39 |

I dont think they’ll make a car just so that they can race it in 1 series...

If this is $35k, $40k then 2 years down the line it would be sub 30! Prime want territory.

I would buy that.

I wonder if the Stinger’s success, and GM exiting the space, are prompting this move.

No, but Australia needs a Falcon replacement anyway so they might as well build a version of the Mustang to fill that role. The Supercars rules actually allow for body styles other than a sedan as long as they fit on the spec chassis layout.

I thought a Taurus was supposed to replace the Falcon
